Already keep a list? Reports → Import your own spreadsheet → Import a spreadsheet….

  1. Save it as CSV from Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Comma, semicolon and tab separated files all work. (Starting fresh? Save a template… gives you a file to fill in.)
  2. Choose the file. For each column, say What … holds — name, quantity, price paid, value, date bought, location, tags, a detail like serial number — or Leave out.
  3. Set Type for rows without one, the Currency of amounts, the Decimal mark, and the order Dates are written.
  4. Check the preview: every row is shown as it will be stored, with problems and likely duplicates of items already in your catalog pointed out.
  5. Fix problems in the file, or Leave out the … with problems, then Import.

Prices are read as written — "$1,299.50" or "1.299,50". The next file with the same columns is read the same way automatically.

Nothing is added until you choose Import, and then every row is added together or none are.
