A few good questions

Before you
get started.

Is this a cloud service?

No. Asset Manager is a desktop app. Your catalog lives in an encrypted vault on your computer. There is no account, cloud catalog or automatic device sync. You can transfer an encrypted backup between computers.

Can I use it without an internet connection?

Yes. Core cataloging, manual valuations, reports and backups work offline. Optional market prices and watch-only Bitcoin balance lookups need a connection. See exactly what those features send.

What if I already use a spreadsheet?

Import a CSV and map your columns to the app’s fields. You can also export existing items, edit supported fields in a spreadsheet and import them back. Read the import guide.

Does it automatically value everything?

No. Metals and crypto can follow supported market feeds. For collectibles and other items, record your own value with its date and supporting evidence. Items without a value stay unknown rather than being treated as zero.

What happens if I forget my passphrase?

Your saved recovery key can unlock the vault. If you lose both, there is no reset service or master key. Save your recovery key when you create the vault.
