For things the app has no form for — model trains, quilts, rare plants — make your own kind.

  1. Open Settings → Item types → New type….
  2. Give it a Name, a Category (which decides where it counts on the overview), and an optional Description shown under its name when adding.
  3. Add a field for each detail. Each field has a name and a kind: Text, Number, Date, Yes / no, or One of a list (enter the Choices, separated by commas). Tick Required for fields every item must have.
  4. Order fields with Move up and Move down, then Create type.

The new kind appears in the add picker under Your types. Fields are checked whenever an item is saved or imported.

Editing a type later keeps values already entered, even if you rename a field. Only a type no item uses — including items in the trash — can be deleted.
