Choose Add asset on Overview or Holdings.
Choosing a kind
The picker groups kinds under Investments, Valuables, Home, Vehicles & property, Collectibles, Firearms and Other, plus Your types if you have made any (Your own item types). Type in Find a kind — car, watch, comic… to filter. If nothing fits, Anything else takes any item.
The kind decides which details the form asks for — a watch has a reference and serial, a vehicle a VIN, a comic a grade. See What you can catalog.
Filling in the form
- Starred fields are what the item's name is built from. Leave Name blank and it is named for you — the form shows Will be listed as … as you type.
- Quantity and Unit — for things held in numbers: 20 coins, 3 bottles, 0.5 BTC.
- Ownership — Acquired on, Price paid (total) for everything held, and Acquired from.
- Value & insurance — what it would sell for today, and an insured value if it has one.
- Notes & tags — free notes, Tags, a Storage location, and Remind me to revalue.
Prices can be typed as you would write them: $1,299.50, 1299.5. Leave a price blank if you do not know it — never enter 0 for unknown.
Saving
Add to catalog saves and opens the new item. Add and start another saves and starts a new form from the same details — handy for a run of similar coins or cards.
