Dividing a purchase among items

Split one price paid for a lot across the items it bought.

Bought several things for one price — a lot at auction, a collection? Catalog each item, then share out the price.

Select the items in Holdings (or open their set).
Choose Divide a purchase….
Enter the Price paid for all of them and its currency.
Choose Divide — Equally, or In proportion to their current values.

Each item's cost becomes its share; the shares add up to the price exactly, to the cent. This replaces each item's recorded cost, and the earlier figures stay in their edit history.
